CEREMONY

CACAO is the FOOD OF THE GODS,

a plant medicine for the soul,

working with the heart, mind and the physical body,

sacred since the Mayans as a spirit bridge.

We take it in ceremony to improve health, elevate mood, enhance cognitive function and deepen our connection to nature.

As a feminine energy, Cacao brings a calming and loving sensation creating space for compassion and forgiveness, gentleness and strength.

It slows down the racing thoughts and sends the focus to the heart helping to process grief and frustration, transmuting to love and gratitude.

We use Keith’s Cacao, which is unroasted and whole, retaining its full nutrition, unlike processed cocoa and chocolate. Keith’s is the world’s finest 100% pure ceremonial cacao, produced in the Kaqchikel Mayan community of San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala.

“The cacao ceremony and sound healing made me feel connected and grounded in my body again. I feel much lighter than when I arrived and am grateful to have connected with such beautiful like-minded souls in such an intimate, safe space.” – Brydie

WHAT IS IT? IN THIS VIDEO JO INTRODUCES US TO CACAO

THE BENEFITS OF CACAO ON THE BODY

RELAXING & REPAIRING

Containing more magnesium than any other food source, Cacao supports muscle recovery and energy production whilst also calming the nervous system and improving brain function.

ANTI AGEING

With more antioxidants than blueberries, green tea and red wine combined, Cacao is one of the richest sources of antioxidants, improving overall health and decreasing the signs of ageing.

FIGHTS FATIGUE

Iron is the most deficient nutrient in the human body, and Cacao iss the highest plant-based source of it, helping fight fatigue by improving circulation and increasing oxygen levels.

BONE BUILDING

With more calcium than cow’s milk, Cacao helps build and maintain strong bones, and enables our muscles to contract, whilst also protecting against high blood pressure by supporting the heart.

NUTRIENT DELIVERY

Cacao is a vasodilator, opening blood vessels, allowing nutrients to reach where you need them most, the cells. Adding Cacao to your protein or supplements maximises their absorption.

BEAUTY

A great source of sulphur, which builds collagen and keratin in the body for healthy hair, skin and nails as well as detoxifying the liver and supporting pancreatic function.

MOOD BOOST

Producing the four major feel good chemicals: serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins, Cacao creates feelings of love, joy and happiness creating wellbeing through a natural high.

OPENS THE HEART

Opening the heart both physically and spiritually, Cacao helps increase oxygen levels, improves circulation and evokes a deeper feeling of connectedness to self, spirit and the planet.

BURNS FAT

A natural appetite suppressant, Cacao contains polyphenols, which increase mitochondrial efficiency, producing more energy in your muscles, fighting fatigue and burning fat.

GUT IMPROVING

Providing the gut with both prebiotic fuel and probiotic bacteria, Cacao can help improve digestion and restore gut health by rebalancing the gut microbiome.

“This was my first Cacao Ceremony. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I felt so welcome and it was a very safe space to just be me. The sound bath was beautiful, you really feel it. I was actually craving the cacao for a few days afterwards but for some it may taste bitter. In the days following the ceremony, I noticed that my confidence had boosted noticeably. I’ll be back for a top up!” – Heidi

THE BENEFITS OF CACAO ON THE MIND

THEOBROMINE – “The Gentler Stimulant”

Categorised in the same stimulant class as caffeine, Theobromine is gentler, providing a smoother, more sustainable energy boost without the jitters. Generating feelings of contentment and euphoria, Cacao can provide energy and alertness whilst also relaxing the nervous system.

Releases OXYTOCIN in the body, the neurotransmitter associated with empathy, trust, sexual activity, generosity and relationship-building – falling in love!

TRYPTOPHAN – “The Feel Good Chemical”

Cacao contains tryptophan, producing SEROTONIN in the body which is also known as the “Feel Good” chemical, responsible for relieving stress and pain and increasing happiness.

TYROSINE – “The Pleasure Chemical”

This amino acid stimulates the release of DOPAMINE in the brain, also known as the “pleasure” chemical, which triggers feelings of joy and happiness in the reward and pleasure centres of the brain.

ANANDAMIDE – “The Bliss Chemical”

From the Sanskrit ‘Ananda’ meaning ‘bliss’, Anandamide produces mild states of euphoria.

ENDORPHINS

Produced by the body to relieve stress and pain, Cacao stimulates the release of Endorphins, which help create feelings of euphoria and bliss.

“The Cacao & Sound Healing ceremony was beautiful and inspiring. I felt warmly held and skillfully guided through the whole experience. I loved learning about the cacao and taking the time to savour the drink and set meaningful intentions. They lovingly created a safe, inclusive space where everyone had a moment to connect and also have space to go deep in the sound healing part of the ceremony. The vibrations and frequencies of the instruments felt so nourishing and relaxing. Thank you!” – Taline

Ceremony music is by Majnoon at Ristanbul, and meditation music by Brandon Read, who also creates the soundtracks for our theatre productions.

The space and event are CHILD & PET FRIENDLY, so bring your tribe, who can either partake – there’s hot chocolate here too, or play in the adjoining supervised crèche – our troupe of actors will all be here and all have working with children certificates and 3/4 are parents!
