Get ready to be swept away by an unforgettable reimagining of Macbeth. This 1.5-hour production hits hard, revealing the raw truth that we always have a choice. It roars with the many shades of love and the human spirit—forces that can overcome any obstacle or plunge us into darkness. Macbeth invites us to confront our shadows, claim them, and seek redemption. Our bold adaptation tells the entire story using just four characters—Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Macduff, The Witch plus storyteller Nathan to guide the journey —and has captivated audiences across Australia for the past two years.
We’re thrilled to introduce a groundbreaking new element to our production of Macbeth: Wiradjuri dancer Ella Havelka. As a passionate advocate for First Nations storytelling through dance, Ella brings a unique and powerful energy to the stage, weaving ancient wisdom with contemporary artistry. In a thrilling collaboration, Ella joins forces with original troupe actor Sontaan Hopson, whose electrifying portrayal of the Witch has become legendary, and together, these two extraordinary women breathe new life into the iconic character, merging spoken word and dance in a breathtaking performance that redefines the Witch’s role in Macbeth. This is an immersive performance you won’t want to miss—an extraordinary, transformative experience that will echo long after the final curtain falls.

St Patrick’s College, Campbelltown, NSW said:
“Come You Spirits was an absolute dream to work with! Jo and her incredible team, including the talented Sontaan, went above and beyond to create a bespoke performance perfectly aligned with our program on Shakespeare’s Women. They brought characters like Katherina, Juliet, Helena, Hermia, and Portia to life, beautifully highlighting how Shakespeare both subverts and supports the gender stereotyping of his time. The performance truly crystallized for our students the depth of these characters and showcased how open to interpretation Shakespeare’s work is. Communication was seamless, and their flexibility made the entire experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend!”

We are looking forward to what Come You Spirits does next.”
“Congratulations! What a wonderful innovation. I love what you are doing – you are really bringing Shakespeare to the people.”

“Come You Spirits put the rhythms of Shakespeare’s language in tune with the frequencies of nature and the elements, breathing new life into words and characters with which we have become too familiar. Enthralled by these performers in a production pared back to bare essentials, I found myself finding Shakespeare made new again as if by alchemy.”
– Professor Laurie Johnson, Queensland University. President, Australian and New Zealand Shakespeare Association
“Come you spirits’ theatre troupe conjured a night of enchantment that will forever be etched in the memories of my Year 10 students. Their performance of Macbeth under the open sky was a breathtaking masterpiece that ignited a passion for Shakespeare within our students’ young minds.
The interplay of firelight, moonlight, and the infinite expanse above transformed our school grounds into a magical realm where tragedy unfolded with raw intensity. The actors’ performances were electrifying, drawing us into the depths of the characters’ tormented souls. This immersive experience was more than just a performance; it was a catalyst for imagination, a celebration of the human spirit, and a testament to the power of storytelling.
I am eternally grateful to ‘Come you Spirits’ for bringing such a profound and unforgettable experience to our school community”
